A short distance from Alpan, in the village of Gimyl medallion carpets are knotted. They have dark ivory wool warp, and double weft of the same color. The fringes are gathered in sturdy knots. The decoration includes a large central medallion, whose rather complex shape originates from an octagonal core decorated with a large eight-petal flower. The corner pieces are occupied by ornamental motifs comparable to a quarter of the medallion placed in the center of the composition, but of a decidedly darker color and connected two by two by a thin frame that runs lengthwise along the edges of the carpet. The field, to which the complex profile of the medallion and the corner pieces gives a jagged appearance, is of a pinkish-orange hue and is meticulously decorated with a dense grid.
